New Camera - Nikon D3000

So I've been wanting a digital SLR since they first arrived on the market. I was in sophomore in high school (15years ago...ouch I'm old). My family has always been a Nikon family, the only 2 camera's I've had that weren't Nikon were an ancient Mamiya/Sekor 35mm that was initially my dad's and all my brother's and I learned to shoot on. Since then, I've used a number of Nikon point-n-shoots. Then just before my honeymoon (literally about 12hrs before catching our flight), I picked up an amazing Kodak Z612... unfortunately that camera met an early end on our vacation to India last summer. So finally a new camera. I've finally got my digital SLR. For my birthday, my amazing wife with help of my dad and in-laws bought me the Nikon DSLR D3000. Currently I've only got the standard 18-55mm lens, but the beauty of the DSLR is that over time I can always improve that.

So in honor of my new camera, my first picture with it... me.

Next stop, the DC Kite Festival next weekend, and then as soon as they bloom... the Cherry Blossoms.
